Front Desk - Weekday Evenings
Position Description

Under the supervision of the Member Services Director, the responsibility of the Front Desk Staff is to provide support to members and guests of the Recreation Center and be the first ‘point of contact’ person. All aspects of the Front Desk Staff will reinforce the four principles of Honesty, Caring, Respect, and Responsibility. The ability to manage multiple tasks and work with all people is essential. Good interpersonal skills and willingness to be a team player is important. The Front Desk Staff will carry out their responsibilities in accordance with established operating policies and procedures of the YMCA, ACA, and county, state, and federal agencies.

This position will work evening shifts: Monday-Friday, 3:00pm-8:15pm.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
These are the principal activities of the Front Desk Staff and are not meant to be all inclusive. Other responsibilities, duties, and tasks can be assigned by the position’s supervisor and/or the CEO. It is the Front Desk Staff’s responsibility that the following takes place: 

  • Welcoming members

  • Answering questions

  • Folding and washing towels

  • Monitoring the supplies used in the wellness center

  • Cleaning the front desk area

  • Updating the daily dry wipe board of classes

  • Selling guest passes, memberships, class and program payments

  • Registering for swim classes and other special events

  • Checking out balls and games

  • Starting the coffee maker

  • Setting up the snack bar items to be sold that day

  • Handling money from any sales 

  • Additional responsibilities may include making courtesy calls to members, giving tours, member mailings, making signs and decorating bulleting boards

Qualifications:
Current certification in Community First Aid, and in adult, child, and infant CPR.
