Member Update 3/16/20

Dear Members:

The Sherman Lake YMCA is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone who enters our doors. In accordance with Governor Gretchen Whitmer's Executive Order earlier today requiring social distancing to slow the spread of COVID-19, we will be closing our membership facilities as of 3 pm on Monday, March 16 through Monday, March 30. The reopening date of Tuesday, March 31 is subject to change as the impact of the coronavirus continues to evolve. During the closure, the Sherman Lake YMCA will be deep cleaned and sanitized

Once we determine when we will be able to re-open, we will communicate our decision via e-mail, our website (www.shermanlakeymca.org), and our Facebook pages.

At this point in time, we anticipate a full return to normal operations as soon as this crisis is resolved and we look forward to offering all of the services we provide every summer including summer camp, swim lessons, group fitness, and special events.

Membership

At this time, we are developing a membership plan that is fair and equitable to all of our members that will include options for cancellation, suspension, pro-rated fees and potential donations. We will be in contact via email tomorrow, March 17 with further information.

Virtual Workout Options

Regular exercise is an important component of a healthy lifestyle that can help reduce stress and prevent illness. Please visit our website at https://www.shermanlakeymca.org/virtual-workouts to view a variety of FREE at-home exercise options available for our members.

Hiking Trails and The Park

All members of the Sherman Lake YMCA have access to our hiking trails and The Park behind the Recreation Center. Please feel free to utilize them from 8:00am-7:00pm. Please click here for a trail map.

Thank you for being a member of our YMCA family. In our 25 years of operation, our YMCA has made it through many challenging times and we have emerged from these challenges stronger as individuals and as a community. We will make it through this current crisis as well.

Sincerely,

Zach Klipsch
Executive Director, Sherman Lake YMCA
