Member Update 11/18/20
Dear Sherman Lake YMCA Family,
Effective Wednesday, November 18, 2020, in compliance with increased safety precautions outlined by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), the Sherman Lake YMCA will be implementing the following safety precautions:
All group fitness classes (including aquatics) have been suspended.
Pickleball is allowed only on OUTDOOR courts.
No Parent/Child Swim unless two lanes are reserved – one for the parent and one for the child (must be able to swim independently and pass the Y’s swim test).
The Core Values of the Sherman Lake YMCA are Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility (or what we call HCRR). We hope to realize these ideals by providing an environment that is clean and welcoming by continuing the protocols put into place when we reopened in September:
Social distancing - please exercise on designated equipment only and respect all signage regarding social distancing. Strive to maintain at least six feet between you and others whenever possible.
Wearing a mask - everyone who visits the Sherman Lake YMCA must wear a mask that covers both their nose and mouth. Mask wearing protects you and others around you.
Cleaning - staff are cleaning/disinfecting high touch areas every 30 minutes while our facilities are open to members. The facility is sanitized each evening, prior to welcoming members back to the Y the next morning. Easily accessible hand sanitizers are also available for members and staff throughout the building.
The safety of our members, staff and community is always our first priority. Thank you for your ongoing support and patience during these unprecedented times. Please continue to follow us on social media, visit our website at www.shermanlakeymca.org, or download our app for future updates!
