TIERED PRICING
Realizing that families have different abilities to pay, Sherman Lake YMCA Camp has adopted a voluntary tier pricing structure for 2024. Tier pricing is not income-based but is based on what your family is able to pay. You choose what you pay and no additional paperwork is required!*
Tier A - The TRUE cost of camp. If you’re able to pay this amount, please do.
Tier B - Partially-subsidized cost, representing a partial scholarship (approximately 5%) for the camper.
Tier C - A higher subsidy, reflecting a larger scholarship (approximately 10%) for the camper.
The choice of what price you pay is completely yours. Regardless of which option you choose, your child receives the same camp experience with the same high-quality programming.

Tiered Pricing FAQS
Why is SLYMCA adopting a Tiered Pricing model? At Sherman Lake YMCA, we want all families to be able to access our programs regardless of their financial circumstances. Tiered pricing provides options for families that reflect their current financial situation and will help us better support the entirety of families in our community, especially those who may not meet the criteria for traditional camperships.
Why are you making this change now? As we are all aware, organizations and families are facing significant economic pressures. SLYMCA is not immune to this - we are working hard to control our fee increases while also managing:
the impact of rising food and supply costs,
the need to maintain a competitive and equitable pay structure for our camp counselors and support staff, (which we believe leads to a more diverse and higher quality of staff),
the ability to create new and innovative camp programs, and finally,
as a recently accredited camp through Praesidium, an organization dedicated to safety and risk management for children, additional expenses we incur to ensure we’re creating an an environment that is as safe as possible for all kids.
How do I choose my tier? Recognizing that a Sherman Lake YMCA Camp experience is an investment and a tremendous value to your child’s development, choose the tier that reflects your family’s income level and asset base. We ask that you carefully read the description of each tier and choose the tier that best matches your financial situation. The tier you select will remain confidential and will not impact your camper’s experience.
How will my tiered pricing impact my family’s experience at SLYMCA? Pricing tiers are confidential and are used for no other purpose than to bill your account. A family’s pricing tier has no impact on program admittance or program experience.
Do all of your summer camp programs have tiered pricing? All of our programs have tiered pricing.
I’ve applied for financial assistance in the past. Will tiered pricing affect my scholarship? No. Families who need support beyond Tier C should apply for financial assistance. Information about our financial assistance program can be found on our website.
