Membership Director
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the CEO, this position directs the planning, promoting, and implementing community service programs as deemed needed for the Sherman Lake Area. The Membership Director will assess and develop quality programs to enhance the lives of the communities surrounding Sherman Lake.
The Membership Director assumes responsibility for all membership programs. The responsibilities include hiring, recruiting, supervision and mentoring of the Healthy Lifestyle Coach, Swim Program Coordinator/Head Lifeguard and the front desk staff. The position will also supervise equipment and facilities in the recreation center and act as a liaison for members concerns related to membership. The position will design standards, facilitate communication and create health enhancement for members and staff.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The position requires knowledge of the special circumstances surrounding the needs of the Sherman Lake Communities. Specific skills in communication, group dynamics, and community collaboration are expected. Knowledge of existing programs and structures and the ability to work with others involved with community enhancement are important.
Establish new community service programs as seen fit for the Sherman Lake YMCA service area.
Administer all membership service programs through the Sherman Lake YMCA.
Develop community collaborations with other organizations in the service area.
Responsible for the development of relevant and innovative enrichment classes for all ages of membership.
Manage the membership on ThinSoft with accuracy.
Be fiscally responsible and accountable for the membership revenue and expenses.
Grow the membership each year.
Billing and collecting of membership dues and fees.
Responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of the recreation center including equipment and facilities.
Promote all the Sherman Lake YMCA Programs to the membership service area (within a six mile radius, 10 minute drive).
Develop and monitor all emergency systems that will ensure member and participant safety at all times.
Keep and submit accurate records (financial, accidental, maintenance repairs, etc.) in a timely fashion.
Overall responsibility to create, plan, schedule, implement and evaluate all fitness classes and special events.
Ensure that all applicable YMCA, ACA, local, state and federal regulations are fulfilled.
Train, motivate and evaluate staff.
Maintain the highest standard of quality at all times.
Develop and maintain good public relations with members, parents and families of our members.
Responsible for establishing and maintaining smooth logistics and master scheduling of fitness classes and programs.
Live by and teach the four principles of YMCA: Honesty, Caring, Respect, and Responsibility.
Drive camp vehicles in emergencies and as needed.
Ensure individual wellness programs for members and staff and protocols to enhance health and welfare.
Liaison with other community membership directors to stay abreast of trends and cutting edge issues in the industry and assist in recruitment of top notch employees.
Provide for the coordination and supervision the activities of Personal Trainers using the facility.
Develop fitness testing procedures or coordinate access to such testing for members and staff.
Develop feedback and communication tools to assist members and in so doing also enhance membership retention.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field or relevant experience.
Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience.
Knowledge in the use of computers and systems administration.
Strong customer service and relationship building skills.
Salary Range:
$40,792-$50,990
